The battery for the Sharp weighs almost as much as the Panasonic.
Screen resolution of VHS was about 330x480 and for the full HD Panasonic it is 1080x1920.
Even ignoring the effects of inflation, the Panasonic, new, is less than half the price I paid for the Sharp (make that a third bearing in mind the wondrous eBay).
Video test new Panasonic HDC-TM700K
Just got a new Panasonic HDC-TM700K 1080/60P video camera for an upcoming trip and just shooting some miscellaneous video in my back yard of our complexes water tower and Comcast Cable Tower cable approx 400' from where I was standing..shoot in 1080/60P and had to downgrade to MPEG 2 quality to be able to post on flicker...hopefully they will soon accept full HD upload or is there something I do not know about...?
